• History Explorers Gallery
  Share the thrill of learning with your whole family in the History Explorers Gallery. Be sure to stop by the Penny Arcade and visit Deja Moo, the legendary two-headed calf. Read moving personal recollections from other Idahoans and find out how your family can incorporate history into your own activities. 

ROTATING EXHIBIT

Syringa and Treasures Galleries host rotating exhibits. Some highlight additional artifacts in the museum's collection, while others feature materials on loan from national sources. 

Currently, Treasures Gallery features "The Art of Deco." This distinctive style reached its peak of popularity during the 1920s, but it lives on through the design of structures such as the Empire State Building.

During its heyday, Art Deco influenced the look of everything from clothing to toys, with examples of both on display among more than 40 artifacts. The State Historic Preservation Office has also created a digital StoryMap identifying Art Deco architecture in Boise, including the museum's original façade.

After viewing this exhibit, visitors will have a greater understanding of the iconic style's influence on design around the world. "The Art of Deco" runs through January 14, 2023.

• Digital Textile Collection
  Clothing and accessory styles often reveal facets of a particular culture. The museum's Digital Textile Collection makes use of 3D modeling and sophisticated photography techniques to provide previously unattainable views of attire across the ages, from the 1820s until today.
  
  
• Trailblazing Women of Idaho
  Idaho's history is studded with the names of fiercely intelligent and forward-thinking women who made their voices heard. "Trailblazing Women of Idaho" honors the women who have impacted both Idaho and the United States.

The Idaho State Museum is located at 610 Julia Davis Dr., just minutes from Boise homes for sale. Hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m daily except Sunday when doors open at noon. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for college students with ID, and $5 for ages 6-17.
